GULFPORT, Miss. ( WJTV ) – During the Changing Tides Festival, the Mississippi Aquarium will celebrate its one millionth guest.

The celebration will be held on Saturday, August 31 starting at 9:45 a.m. on the Mississippi Aquarium ticketing plaza. The one millionth guest will be determined and will receive the ultimate Mississippi Aquarium prize package. In addition to the special prize being awarded to one lucky guest, the first 500 guests will receive a free commemorative water bottle.

The Changing Tides Festival began in 2023 with the third anniversary of the aquarium and the grand opening of the Changing Tides building.

“Entertaining and educating one million guests is such an amazing accomplishment and it’s so special that it lined up perfectly with our fourth anniversary,” said Patrick Pearson, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “We’re proud to be a premiere tourist attraction for so many in the state and across the region and we hope everyone can come join us this week to celebrate.”

Commemorative water bottles are issued on a first come, first served basis.
