    JACKSON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Take some time to unwind with friends, family or yourself this weekend. Below you’ll find a list of some fun events going on this weekend (August 30-September 1) around Mississippi.

    Central Mississippi

    Food Truck Friday – Jackson – Friday

    • The multi-vendor event celebrates Jackson’s food truck cuisine and culture.

    Belhaven Block Party – Jackson – Friday

    • There will be live music, drinks and ice cream!

    Madison County Schools Education Foundation Inaugural Golf Tournament – Ridgeland – Friday

    • This golf tournament is a fundraiser for the Madison County School District.

    Fleet Feet Coffee Run – Ridgeland – Friday

    • The group usually makes a large loop around the area. After the run, the first round of coffee is free on Fleet Feet!

    VHS Class of 1974-1994 Reunion – Vicksburg – Friday

    • The event will be held at the Vicksburg Convention Center.

    Red Carpet Bowl – Vicksburg – Friday

    • Vicksburg High School will play Holmes County, and Warren Central will play Clinton at 7:00 pm.

    Dinosaurs Around the World – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • With advanced animatronics, a multi-layered narrative, cutting-edge research, in an outdoor environment surrounded by nature, you’ll experience the Age of Reptiles brought back to life.

    PAW Patrol Adventure Play Exhibit – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • Save the day through hands-on play at the Mississippi Children’s Museum’s summer exhibit in Jackson, PAW Patrol: Adventure Play!

    Flags from Mississippi – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • The exhibit features 20 flags made from a variety of fabrics, such as wool and silk. Some were sewn by hand. Highlights include an original Magnolia flag, adopted in 1861 as the first official flag of Mississippi, that has been saved by conservators after it became severely fragmented.

    • Nuestro Mississippi uses photography and oral history to document Mississippi’s fastest-growing population: its Hispanic community.

    • What Became of Dr. Smith, is a large-scale, panoramic narrative painting by contemporary artist Noah Saterstrom. The exhibition delves into the life of Saterstrom’s great-grandfather.

    Murder at the Manor – Natchez – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • “Murder at the Manor” Mystery Dinner that guarantees an evening filled with laughter, mystery, and surprises.

    JXN Roller Derby – Jackson – Saturday

    • There will be a Junior Derby Mash-up, JXN vs. BERD Second Line and a Troller Derby Mash-up.

    Epic Funk Brass Band – Jackson – Saturday

    • The Epic Funk Brass Band will perform at The Red Room at Hal & Mal’s.

    Mississippi Farmers Market – Jackson – Saturday

    • From persimmons to peaches, from bok choy to butter beans, the Mississippi Farmers Market is the one place to go for the freshest fruits and vegetables that are grown in the state.

    Saturday Game Days – Ridgeland – Saturday

    • Enjoy game day bites at Anjou.

    Live Magic Show and Film Screening – Vicksburg – Saturday

    • Special guest performer, Joe M. Turner, will perform a live show prior to a screening of the movie “Lost In The Shuffle.”

    Live Blues Music – Natchez- Saturday

    Hezekiah Watkins’ Birthday Celebration – Jackson – Sunday

    • Celebrate Hezekiah Watkins’ birthday at the Two Mississippi Museums on Sunday, September 1. On this free admission day, Watkins will share his experience during the Mississippi Civil Rights Movement.

    A Night Off Broadway – Hattiesburg – Friday

    • There will be a screening of the film “Cars,” a pep rally, a pop-up splash pad, outdoor games, food trucks and a gaming truck.

    Bilingual Storytime – Hattiesburg – Friday

    • The Hattiesburg Zoo will host a free storytime event geared for children, who are not yet in school, and their caregivers.

    4th Annual MS NFF 5D Multi-Race – Hattiesburg – Friday

    • The event will be held at the Forrest County Multi-Purpose Center.

    FRIYAY Karaoke Night – Laurel – Friday

    • There will be karaoke at 320 5th Street.

    New Exhibit at Hattiesburg Pocket Museum – Hattiesburg – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • The Hattiesburg Pocket Museum has a new exhibit every month, so be sure to head downtown for a small surprise!

    Forrest County Farmers Market – Hattiesburg – Saturday
