Jackson church donates shoes, gift cards to students

JACKSON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Cade Chapel Missionary Baptist Church surprised 100 Jackson Public Schools (JPS) students with new shoes and gift cards on Friday.

The initiative is part of the church’s ongoing partnership with Walton Elementary School to provide incentives for Jackson families who registered early for the new school year.

“Cade Chapel Baptist Church has been a long time adopter of Walton Elementary School. They have provided amazing support, a lot of time spent with the scholars, supporting teachers and just a number of things,” said Thea Faulkner, director of Partners and Education with JPS.

This is the church’s second shoe giveaway for Walton Elementary.
