Man wanted for killing mother in Jackson: police

JACKSON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Jackson police are searching for a man who allegedly killed his mother.

Detective Tommie Brown said police received a call about the incident shortly after 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4.

When officers arrived at the scene in the 900 block of Carver Street, they discovered the victim, 63-year-old Louise Banks Tornes, had been assaulted. Brown said Tornes died from blunt force trauma.

Police are searching for Tornes’ son, 42-year-old Jerry Banks, in connection to the homicide. They said he attempted to assault other family members and fled the scene before officers arrived.

See this is probably someone with very seriously Mental Health Issues who's probably OFF their MEDS if he's threatened or harmed other family members or done anything violent before this and no one had him evaluated it could be drug issues or Mental Health issues Mississippi Y'all have to start listening to someone if they tell you they dealing with an unstable mentally ill person or someone freaking out on drugs whatever the case maybe 🤔 you guys let too MANY of Your Mentally unstable Residents untreated and left to terrorize THE COMMUNITY 😔😔. JUST PASSING THROUGH WITH A THOUGHT 💭. P S. WE DON'T DO THIS IN LOUISIANA
