    Mississippi man catches record female alligator

    JACKSON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – A new alligator hunting record has been broken in Mississippi!

    According to the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks (MDWFP), a new female alligator length and weight record was certified on Saturday, September 7.

    Five Mississippi men cited for alligator hunting violations in Louisiana

    The alligator’s length was 11 feet ¾ inch, which broke the previous record by almost a foot. The alligator weighed 324 pounds, belly girth was 37 inches and the tail girth was 32 inches.

    MDWFP officials said the alligator was taken on the Pascagoula River by Jason Ullendorf.

    Why? That is an animal that will kill a child, dog, even a deer or cow drinking water. I had the pleasure of living in Houma, LA about 20 years ago right on the bayou. I know the mother of a child killed and pulled in the water by a gator and not one piece of him found. And they're over populating!!
