    Mississippi agencies announce closures ahead of Francine

    JACKSON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Some Mississippi agencies will be closed on Wednesday, September 11 due to Hurricane Francine .

    The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) announced the following county health departments will be closed or will close early:

    • District 9
      • Pearl River and Hancock counties closed all day
      • Harrison and Jackson counties closing at noon
      • Stone County closing at 2:00 p.m.
    • District 8
      • Marion, Lamar, Jefferson Davis, and Covington counties closing at noon
      • Forrest County closing at 1:00 p.m.
    • District 7
      • Pike and Walthall counties closed all day
      • Adams, Amite, Franklin, Jefferson, Lawrence, Lincoln, and Wilkinson counties closing at noon
    Mississippi governor declares State of Emergency ahead of Francine

    The Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS) announced the closure of its offices in the following counties:

    • Franklin County
    • George County
    • Hancock County
    • Harrison County
    • Lincoln County
    • Pearl River County
    • Pike County
    • Stone County
    • Wayne County – will close at 12:00 p.m.
