    MDWFP Special Response Team ready to respond to Hurricane Francine

    JACKSON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks’(MDWFP) Law Enforcement Special Response Team (SRT) has been stationed in Southwest, Mississippi, ahead of Hurricane Francine .

    MDWFP urged all visitors to use caution when visiting the agency’s facilities, specifically in the southern and central regions, this week due to the anticipated impact of the hurricane.

    Which Mississippi shelters are open ahead of Francine?

    This advisory applies to all Wildlife Management Areas, State Lakes, State Parks, Shooting Facilities, and the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science.

    Additionally, as a precautionary measure, Buccaneer State Park has been evacuated and will remain closed until further notice.
