TERRY, Miss. ( WJT V) – Terry High School received a makeover this year- with two new buildings, 21 new classrooms along with a new front entrance and lobby, Principal Matthew Scott says he has the community to thank.

“Letting our students and staff know that we appreciate them, all their efforts,” he said.

Principal Scott is a product of Terry High School. Having walked the hallways as a student, basketball coach and now principal, he’s come full circle and says, he’s committed to guiding students in the right direction.

“Our hopes are to grow to an ‘A’ level school. Getting our students involved in as many different activities as we can, engaging our community to come on campus as many times as we can,” he said.

The construction of a new gym is also in the works.

“Just people being able to travel up and down the highway and see the construction. It’s been something that’s encouraging to our families because they see that there’s growth, there’s development and great things are coming to Terry High School,” said Principal Scott. “Terry High School has an immense amount of Bulldog pride. We’re proud of who we are. We’re proud of our history. We’re proud of where we’re going.”

He anticipates the gym will be ready by the end of this year, or January 2025.
