JACKSON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Due to the impact of Tropical Depression Francine, the City of Jackson offices will remained closed on Thursday, September 12. All City of Jackson employees are expected to return to the office for regular hours Friday.

According to Jackson leaders, the temporary shelter at the Jackson Police Training Academy will close at noon on Thursday.

City crews are in the process of removing trees and limbs from the following roads:

• 2250 Boling Street
• 1931 Boling Street
• County Line Road/Highway 49 E. Countyline Rd (two trees)
• 1922 First Avenue (power line) private
• 3500 Lee Street
• Jefferson Street at Morningside
• 4715 Methodist Home Rd.

Residents can call 601-960-1870 if they see tree debris blocking roadways. For residents with damage to their homes, they can call the Hinds County Emergency Operations Center at 601-968-6771.

There have viaducts on Mill Street at Monument Street and Capitol Street at Monument Street have been closed.

There are just over 2,000 power outages in Hinds County as of 10:30 a.m., according to PowerOutage.us . Neighbors can call Entergy at 1-800-9OUTAGE to report an outage or determine status.

Residents are advised to call the city’s Action Line at 311 or 601-960-1111 for non-emergency needs.
