200 Simpson County customers under boil water notice

SIMPSON COUNTY, Miss. ( WJTV ) – A boil water notice has been issued for 200 customers in Simpson County.

According to the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH), the notice affects customers serviced by the Shivers Water Association. The following roads are affected:

W. M. Powell Road
David Sherman Road
Lower Rockport Road
Joann Road
John May Road
Rockport Road
Voss Steen Shivers Road
Highway 478
Houston Buckley Road

This is a precautionary notice. This notice is the result of repair work performed on the water system.

Health officials strongly recommend that all water be boiled vigorously for one minute before it is consumed.
