JACKSON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – There are plenty of places across the Jackson metro where you can volley and beat others on the pickleball court.

The game which combines elements of tennis, table tennis and badminton is one of America’s fastest-growing sports. It is also one of the fastest-growing and most popular ones in the metro. Pickleball’s broad appeal largely comes from its ability to be played by those of all ages and skill levels.

Last year, the Pickleball Union ranked Mississippi as the second worst place to play pickleball nationally. However, Mississippi’s interest in the sport continues to grow, with some residents even playing the sport professionally . Below are places the public can get in on the action.

Open play indicates a shared reservation with other players to use the same court. Pickleball courts exist throughout the metro. However, they are primarily or exclusively for members of organizations, clubs and even churches.
