Natchez Mayor Dan Gibson released a statement on social media about the passing of Estes.

Natchez has lost a wonderful man. Don Estes was not only a great Natchezian, who in addition to being a great husband and patriarch to his family, was an accomplished business leader and later the man directed our City Cemetery and helped found Angels on the Bluff. His book, “Legends of the Natchez Cemetery”, is one of those “you can’t put it down” reads. We will miss Don. His tours were legendary, as was his charm, his wit and his kindness.
