    Simpson Academy student killed during ATV crash

    SIMPSON COUNTY, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Students and teachers at Simpson Academy are remembering the life of a student who was killed during at ATV accident .

    Authorities said Ayden Temple, 13, was riding an ATV in the Ole Pearl community on Sunday, September 22 when the crash occurred.

    Nick Lee, the headmaster of Simpson Academy, said learning about Temple’s death was devastating.

    “These children, they’re my children when they’re here, and I feel fully responsible for them. So when you get when you get news like this, it just it knocks… it knocks you down and puts a hole in your heart that just, you know, really will never recover,” he said.

    Temple, and 8th grader, was a member of the Simpson Academy Junior High football and archery teams.

    The school dedicated its Monday chapel service to Temple. Simpson Academy will be closed on Thursday for Temple’s funeral.
