Part of Jackson street to be renamed after Hal White

JACKSON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – The Jackson City Council voted to rename a portion of Pascagoula Street in honor of the late Hal White.

The Jackson City Council voted unanimously on Tuesday to rename part of the street.

Hal’s brother, Malcolm White, said the renaming process has been ongoing since 2017. He said this will be an excellent way to continue his brother’s legacy.

“As you know, we renamed the St Paddy’s Parade for my brother many years ago, so this would continue to honor his legacy,” said White.

The brothers opened Hal & Mal’s, a Jackson restaurant, in 1985.

Congratulations Hal deserves the name change in his honor for his long standing commitment to Jackson. I hope that Jackson honors him by making sure a street signs and traffic lights are fixed on his street and that there are no pot holes on Hal’s street! No blight, dumping or litter should be on his street This would be an honor!
