When is the 2024 Pearl River Clean Sweep?

RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. ( WJTV ) – The 2024 Pearl River Clean Sweep will take place on Saturday, September 28.

Volunteers can choose from more than 20 locations along the Pearl River to help cleanup. The event will start at 8:00 a.m.

This event is open to all ages and will be held rain or shine. Volunteers are asked to bring a reusable water bottle (no single-use plastic please), gloves, mask, hand sanitizer and sturdy shoes. Site leaders will distribute cleanup bags.

In the past 7 years, this event has engaged more than 4,200 volunteers and removed more than 163,700 pounds of trash from the Pearl River watershed.
