GEORGE COUNTY, Miss. ( WHLT ) – George County deputies arrested a man after a high-speed chase.

According to investigators, deputies were conducting a safety checkpoint in the Brushy Creek community on September 26 when a vehicle refused to stop. They said the chase spanned multiple roadways and ended on Sanford Drive.

Deputies said the driver, Joseph Holloway, attempted to run from the scene, but he was arrested. Holloway has bee charged with:

• Disorderly Conduct – Failure to Comply
• Fleeing and Eluding Law Enforcement in a Motor Vehicle
• No Tag
• No Driver’s License
• No Proof of Liability Insurance
• Reckless Driving
• Driving on the Wrong Side of Roadway (x2)
• Improper Turn (x6)
• Disregard for Traffic Device (x4)

Holloway is being held at the George County Regional Correctional Facility.
