Heidelberg man charged with DUI after chase

JONES COUNTY, Miss. ( WHLT ) – Jones County deputies arrested a 22-year-old man following a high-speed chase.

Investigators said Chief of Investigations and Narcotics Vince Williams was working an overtime impaired driver enforcement detail when attempted to stop a Dodge pickup on Sharon – Sandersville Road.

They said the suspect did not stop, and the chase continued onto Sharon Road before the pickup pulled over in the parking lot of First Baptist Church of Sharon.

Davian Jefferson, of Heidelberg, was arrested and charged with DUI-2nd, eluding/fleeing in a motor vehicle, reckless driving and no drivers license. He was booked into the Jones County Adult Detention Center and has since bonded out.
