    What are Mississippi’s deadlines for the 2024 election?

    JACKSON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – With the November 5, 2024, General Election quickly approaching, officials said Mississippians need to be aware of upcoming important dates and deadlines.

    Voter Registration

    The 2024 General Election voter registration deadlines are:

    • In-person at the Circuit Clerk’s office by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 7.
      • Note: Circuit Clerk’s offices will be open for in-person voter registration on Saturday, October 5, from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
    • Mail-in registration applications must be postmarked no later than Monday, October 7.

    Absentee Voting

    In-person and mail-in absentee ballots are now available through your county Circuit Clerk’s office for the 2024 General Election.

    Mississippians may utilize the Secretary of State’s Y’all Vote website , which includes an Absentee Voting FAQ and Step-by-Step Guide to Absentee Voting , or contact their county circuit clerk to verify eligibility. If eligible, ballots will be provided upon request by your circuit clerk.

    For those who cannot visit their Circuit Clerk’s Office during the work week, Saturday in-person absentee voting dates are Saturday, October 26, and Saturday, November 2, from 8:00 a.m. until noon.

    The last day to vote in-person absentee is November 2 while mail-in absentee ballots must be postmarked on or before November 5 (Election Day).
