When officers arrived at the location, they made contact with the suspect, 25-year-old Anthony Myers. Before officers arrived at the scene, they said Myers had obtained a handgun that was not supposed to be on the property.

After a brief standoff, Myers was taken into custody without further incident. Police said the case workers received non-life threatening injuries.

Myers was charged with two counts of simple assault on an officer and two counts of simple assault on healthcare workers. He is being held at the Forrest County Jail on a $20,000 bond. If convicted, Myers faces up to 20 years in prison.
