Five injured in two-car crash in Jones County

JONES COUNTY, Miss. ( WHLT ) – Five people were injured during a two-vehicle crash in Jones County.

The crash occurred on Highway 84 East between Mill Creek Road and Jessie Malone Road around 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 3.

When firefighters arrived at the location, they found a Chevy Impala in the median and a Kia Sportage on the right side of the highway. They said the Kia had overturned and was resting on its driver’s side doors.

One occupant in the Impala had serious injuries and two had minor injuries. In the Kia, one adult and one child received minor injuries. According to the Jones County Fire Council, two people were transported to the hospital by an ambulance.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) and the Jones County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene.
