    Inauguration held for Alcorn State’s 21st president

    LORMAN, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Amidst homecoming celebrations, Alcorn State University held an inauguration for its 21st president. The university held an investiture ceremony on Friday for Dr. Tracy M. Cook.

    “It’s a tremendous opportunity to be here for the swearing in of Dr. Cooke as the new president of Alcorn State University. I’ve known him for quite a while. He’s a homeboy native of Fayette, Mississippi. And it’s time for this part of Mississippi to get its just do. And I think no one could be any better than Dr. Cook,” said U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.).

    Tougaloo College launches Cybersecurity Clinic

    Cook was appointed by the Mississippi Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL) and assumed to role as president in April 2024.

    “I feel so great thankful that God has granted me this opportunity to lead a university that I love dearly,” said Cook.
