    JACKSON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Take some time to unwind with friends, family or yourself this weekend. Below you’ll find a list of some fun events going on this weekend (October 11-13) around Mississippi.

    Central Mississippi

    Drive-in Movie Night at Thee Vet – Jackson – Friday

    • The first screening, Inside Out 2, will begin at 6 p.m., and the second screening, Bad Boys: Ride or Die, will begin at 9 p.m.

    Dru Hill – Jackson – Friday

    • R&B legends Dru Hill are coming to town, bringing their iconic hits and smooth harmonies.

    Al’s Sandwich Shop – Jackson – Friday

    • There will be cocktails, dancing and late night snacks.

    Tickled Pink Luncheon – Jackson – Friday

    • This event is the American Cancer Society’s premier fundraising luncheon honoring prominent individuals in the area who have made significant contributions to the community and have been directly affected by breast cancer either as a survivor or caregiver.

    Baby Art Adventure: Infant Classes – Jackson – Friday

    • In this introductory experience, created in partnership with Family Social Club, you’ll enjoy a special time in the Museum, while you and your baby connect and learn from Pediatric Occupational Therapist Sydney Sisson in a supportive community of fellow caregivers.

    Belhaven Block Party – Jackson – Friday

    • There will be live music, drinks and ice cream!

    Dinner and a Movie – Clinton – Friday

    • Visitors are encouraged to bring their own chairs. This fun event features food vendors and meal options from local restaurants.

    Fleet Feet Coffee Run – Ridgeland – Friday

    • The group usually makes a large loop around the area. After the run, the first round of coffee is free on Fleet Feet!

    Natchez Festival of Music: An Evening with the Pink Panther – Natchez – Friday

    • This event celebrates the centennial of Henry Mancini, a legendary American composer, conductor, and arranger.

    Live at Five – Natchez – Friday

    • Live at Five is a free, family-friendly, outdoor concert series held at the Bandstand on the Natchez Bluff overlooking the Mississippi River.

    Pumpkin Adventure – Jackson – Friday and Saturday

    • The Museum’s Pumpkin Adventure will include a hayride around the museum grounds and Small Town, Miss., a complimentary snack of cookies and milk, a self-guided tour of the Heritage Center Gallery; a visit to the farm animals located inside the Children’s Barnyard, a corn pit to play in, a straw maze and a small pumpkin of choice to take home.

    Junkin’ on the River – Natchez – Friday and Saturday

    • Multiple stores across the Natchez, Mississippi, and Vidalia, Louisiana, area will be taking part!

    Murder at the Deadwood Manor – Natchez – Friday and Saturday

    • Lasso up your friends and get ready for a Tombstone adventure where the Old West collides with Southern charm in “Murder at the Deadwood Manor!”

    Mississippi State Fair – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • One of the South’s largest fairs, with rides, entertainment, and competitions. Fairgoers can experience the excitement of carnival rides, indulge in delicious treats, and enjoy live entertainment.

    Providence Hill: Woolley’s Signature Fitasc Shoot – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • Each month there is a signature shoot at Providence Hill for members to determine the club champion.

    Display of Creepy Dolls – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • The free monthlong display features six dolls from the mid-19th century to the early 20th century and provides an eerie glimpse into children’s playthings from the past.

    Dinosaurs Around the World – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • With advanced animatronics, a multi-layered narrative, cutting-edge research, in an outdoor environment surrounded by nature, you’ll experience the Age of Reptiles brought back to life.

    Flags from Mississippi – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • The exhibit features 20 flags made from a variety of fabrics, such as wool and silk. Some were sewn by hand. Highlights include an original Magnolia flag, adopted in 1861 as the first official flag of Mississippi, that has been saved by conservators after it became severely fragmented.

    Atomic Age Exhibit – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • The exhibition explores the history of the Federal Civil Defense Administration established to prepare Americans for the perils of the new Atomic Age.

    • Step into the mysterious world of Glenfield, a 200-year-old former plantation home shrouded in both history and the supernatural.

    Mississippi Archaeology Expo – Jackson – Saturday

    • Celebrate Mississippi Archaeology month with the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science and the Mississippi Archeology Association.

    Oktoberfest at the Jackson Zoo – Jackson – Saturday

    • The festival will have live music, food, jewelry, wellness, community, clothing, and book vendors for your shopping needs, a kid zone, space jumps, train and carousel rides for everyone to enjoy.

    Louisa Denson Wellness Fair and 5K Walk/Run – Jackson – Saturday

    • From persimmons to peaches, from bok choy to butter beans, the Mississippi Farmers Market is the one place to go for the freshest fruits and vegetables that are grown in the state.

    Harvest Festival – Flowood – Saturday

    • There will be free pumpkins for the kids, harvest games with prizes, refreshments, crafts and face painting.

    Fall Extravaganza – Richland – Saturday

    • There will be a rock climbing wall, a football toss, bouncy houses, slides, giant basketball, axe throwing (inflatable), food trucks and more!

    Miss-Lou Makers Market Fall Edition – Natchez – Saturday

    • The Miss-Lou Makers Market are local handmade artists from Mississippi and Louisiana gathered into an exclusive vendor showcase on the Natchez bluff.

    A Night of Southern Soul with a Splash of R&B – Natchez – Saturday

    • The event will feature headlining Artist Avail Hollywood, as well as other artists.

    ArtsNatchez 2nd Saturday – Natchez – Saturday

    • ArtsNatchez Gallery will be honoring Carolyn Margaret Weir as the featured artist for an evening of art and creativity.

    Andrew’s Tavern 2nd Annual Gumbo Cook-off – Natchez – Saturday

    • Andrew’s Tavern is hosting a Gumbo Cook-Off to benefit Home With Heroes, a non-profit providing resources for veterans in the Miss-Lou.

    Natchez Farmers Market – Natchez – Saturday

    • Every week there will be live fresh produce, baked goods, fresh dairy, and arts and crafts all from local growers and artists.

    Second Saturday – Vicksburg – Saturday

    • Second Saturday is an opportunity for the community to shop downtown, listen to live music, learn from featured artists and artisans, and much more.

    36th Annual Over the River Run – Vicksburg – Saturday

    • After the race, enjoy entertainment, fun, and refreshments for all participants at the Ameristar Delta Point parking lot.

    NAMI Walks Vicksburg – Vicksburg – Saturday

    • This event is the annual fundraiser for NAMI Vicksburg.

    Country Western Dance Party – Vicksburg – Saturday

    • Dances will be led by the Mississippi Country Western Dancers’ Association.

    Hispanic Heritage Festival – Morton – Saturday

    • The event aims to celebrate the cultures of the Latinx immigrants who make up a core piece of Scott County’s population. Everyone is welcome to come celebrate this expression of culture and take part in the day’s many festivities!

    Film Screening: Little Brother of War – Jackson – Sunday

    • The film focuses on the Native American game stickball and the struggle by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians to keep traditions alive in the modern day.

    • This family-friendly event features a variety of musical genres.

    • The event will be held at MPV Bar & Lounge.

    FRIYAY Karaoke Night – Laurel – Friday

    • The event will be held at 320 5th St.

    LRMA Historic District Walking Tour – Laurel – Friday

    • Join Museum Director George Bassi for an engaging and informational walking tour of Laurel’s historical district as he traces the history and evolution of the city and some of it’s finest homes and structures.

    New Exhibit at Hattiesburg Pocket Museum – Hattiesburg – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

    • The Hattiesburg Pocket Museum has a new exhibit every month, so be sure to head downtown for a small surprise!

    4th Annual Taste of the South Food Truck Festival – Hattiesburg – Saturday

    • Monster House will begin at 6:40 p.m., followed by Jeepers Creepers.
