    Man sentenced for beating death outside Mississippi restaurant

    TUPELO, Miss. ( WJTV ) – A man pled guilty to a lesser charge in connection to the beating death of a man in Tupelo two years ago.

    Mississippi daycare owner charged after two children found on highway

    The Daily Journal reported Timothy Turner, of Saltillo, was previously charged with first-degree murder for the death of Leonard “K.C.” Cooper, 31, of Fulton, in the parking lot of Steele’s Dive in April 2022. The charge was reduced to second-degree murder on Thursday, October 10, 2024, and Turner pled guilty.

    The judge sentenced Turner to 40 years in prison with 10 years suspended.
