    Mississippi sends law enforcement assets to North Carolina

    JACKSON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Governor Tate Reeves (R-Miss.) announced on Monday that he approved the deployment of additional assets to help support the state of North Carolina as they continue response and recovery missions following Hurricane Helene.

    Twenty-two law enforcement members from the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) and 25 members of the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks (MDWFP) will deploy to North Carolina this week to assist with search and rescue missions and traffic control.

    Florida returning to something like normal after Hurricane Milton

    Fourteen missions have been deployed to five states affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton; seven of which have demobilized and returned home.

    “Mississippi will continue assisting our fellow Americans in the wake of Hurricanes Helene and Milton,” said Reeves. “These 47 law enforcement officers will be another valuable asset in recovery efforts, and I thank them for stepping up to serve.”

    Florida Swift Water Rescue Team (Local First Responders) – Demobilized
    2 Blackhawk Helicopters and Crew (MSNG) – Demobilized
    1 Chinook and Crew (MSNG) – Demobilized
    EMAC Mutual Aid Coordinator (MEMA)
    Georgia 3 – 150kw Generators (MEMA) – Demobilized
    South Carolina Engineer Team (MSNG) – Demobilized
    North Carolina Private Sector Coordinators (2) (MEMA)
    1 Chinook and Crew (MSNG) – Demobilized
    MHP Law Enforcement (22)
    MDWFP Law Enforcement (25)
    Tennessee Voluntary Agency Liaisons (2) (MEMA)
