LEE COUNTY, Miss. ( WJTV ) – A man has been charged after he allegedly kidnapped and assaulted a woman in North Mississippi.

Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson said deputies responded to a call on Sunday, October 13 about a woman who had been assaulted in the Verona area. They discovered that the victim had been held at the residence against her will since Friday, October 11.

Johnson said the victim was transported to the North Mississippi Medical Center and treated for multiple injuries.

An arrest warrant was issued for Glenn Elliot Jones, 58. The sheriff said Jones was arrested on the property while a search warrant was being executed.

Jones was charged with kidnapping and aggravated domestic violence. His bond was set at $1 million for the kidnapping charge and $50,000 for the aggravated domestic violence charge.
