    One injured, two arrested in shooting at South Mississippi Fair

    JONES COUNTY, Miss. ( WHLT ) – One teenager was injured during a shooting at the South Mississippi Fair in Laurel.

    The shooting occurred at the fair on Saturday, October 19.

    Jones County driver dies after pickup truck crashes

    Jones County investigators said Akealeis McKensie, 18, of Laurel, and Jailen Shade, 18, of Laurel, were both arrested and charged with aggravated assault in connection to the shooting.

    The male victim was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition as of Sunday, October 20.

    “Both suspects were apprehended by officers with PROtec Security within a few minutes of the shooting following a foot chase. Both suspects were then taken into custody by JCSD deputies and are currently incarcerated at the Jones County Adult Detention Facility pending their initial appearance in Jones County Justice Court,” said Jones County Sheriff Joe Berlin.

    A friend was standing right next to it when it happened. Literally had gun smoke on her child in a stroller ! Severe penalties must be used. ( wonder if either was already a convicted felon 🙄)
