Local couple wins big on scratch-off — twice

SANDUSKY, Ohio (WJW) – Lady Luck was on the side of an Ohio couple playing the lottery.

The Sandusky couple picked up lottery tickets on a grocery run to their local Kroger.

“We had a couple of lottery tickets we needed to cash in, and he got groceries and got the lottery tickets,” the woman told the Ohio Lottery .

Her husband bought six “Billion” lottery tickets.

The first one they scratched was a $10,000 winner, according to the Ohio Lottery .

The take home after taxes is $7,200.

The couple tried their luck again on the same game the following week and claimed another $500.

Billion is a $50 scratch-off with a top prize of $1 million a year for 20 years.

The winners say they’ll use the prize money to pay off their hot tub.
