    Canton man killed in local crash: OSHP

    STARK COUNTY, Ohio (WJW) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a traffic crash that killed a motorcyclist.

    It happened on Tuesday, Aug. 13, just before 10 p.m.

    According to a press release from OSHP, a motorcyclist was headed eastbound on Tuscarawas Street West, while the driver of a vehicle was headed westbound.

    According to preliminary information from troopers, the vehicle attempted to make a left turn onto Bordner Avenue, when the motorcyclist hit the car.

    The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by the Stark County Coroner.

    He was identified as Timothy Carpenter, 37, of Canton. Troopers said he was wearing a helmet.

    The driver of the vehicle was not hurt. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be a factor.
