TRACKING: Multiple rounds of rain, strong storms

(WJW) – Most of us woke up to showers and sprinkles this morning as a warm front moves through. We will get a break midday with some sunshine peeking out.

Humidity continues to increase with temperatures topping in the low and mid-80s.

Then, heavier rain by the second half of the day with thunderstorms developing ahead of a slow-moving front.

A slow-moving low combined with a couple of fronts will lead to multiple rounds of scattered rain showers and storms through the upcoming weekend. The best chance for rain each day is in the afternoon and early evening. A few of the storms that develop could be strong with gusty winds.

A cold front will move through on Saturday and bring in the highest coverage of rain this weekend. Rain showers, downpours, and storms will be likely on Saturday. Once again, a few of the storms on Saturday could be strong and produce gusty winds, torrential rain, and frequent lightning. Despite the clouds and rain, highs on Saturday will still be in the lower 80s.

The second half of the weekend will not be much drier. Scattered rain showers will be likely Sunday afternoon. Temperatures will only warm into the mid to upper 70s Sunday afternoon.

A few rain showers could continue into early next week.

Overall, next week looks dry and not hot. Highs may stuck in the 70s through midweek with a taste of fall.
