CHARDON , Ohio (WJW) – A mama cow in Geauga County is being described as quite the overachieving Hereford after birthing rare triplets calves.

Roy Greig of Brookglen Farm in Chardon shared with FOX 8 a picture of the trio alongside their mother. He said the beef cow has had six pregnancies and has given them 10 calves on their Radcliffe Road farm.

“She has had 3 singles, 2 sets of twins, and now triplets. Triplets are a 1 in over 100,000 births odds,” explained Greig.

The calves are two males and a female. The family named them Peter, Paul, and Mary after the 1960s music group .

“They are all very healthy, but Peter likes to get out of his pen and roam the barn and visit the other cows and calves,” said Greig.  “When we come in he goes and jumps back in his pen.”

Farm & Dairy , a weekly agriculture and farming newspaper in Salem, shared the news of the triplets on its Facebook page . The paper called Spot a “super cow mom” and reported she is between 8 and 9 years old and is bred about every 15 months.

    Go, mama!
