Mother-in-law ruins gender reveal party: Mom left in shock

(WJW) – A soon-to-be mother of two was left in shock when her mother-in-law “ruined” the gender reveal party for her baby.

A video posted to TikTok shows the moment David and Shannon Wilson were shocked by the gender of their baby, a little earlier than expected.

Confetti poppers were given to each guest at the party and were meant to go off all at the same time. The TikTok video shows that the reveal didn’t go as planned, as the grandmother of the baby set hers off before everyone else was able to, including the couple.

The video , with more than 11 million views, shows Shannon visibly in shock, while David is mostly just excited to learn that they will be having a boy.

The video was posted by Shannon with the caption, “First rule of gender reveals: Never give a canon to your mother-in-law.”

One commenter asked, “What happened after that?”

Shannon posted a video reply with the aftermath of the confetti mishap. The Wilsons set off their poppers anyway, excited about their baby-to-be.

“We popped them anyways! Lol. It was our second child and we wanted more people to be involved. There was no cussing, no upset…lol I was alright guys,” Shannon said in the caption of the video.

The couple is now awaiting the arrival of their second child, which will be a boy, as the confetti poppers showed.
