STOW , Ohio (WJW) — Residents are invited to a candlelight vigil this weekend for Megan Keleman, a 25-year-old woman gunned down by an apparent stranger in a drive-thru on Wednesday evening.

It’s set for 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18, rain or shine, on the front lawn of Stow City Hall, 3760 Darrow Road, according to a news release from the city.

Candles will be provided. Counselors will also be on hand to offer support.

Keleman’s pastor, Cole Tawney of Kent’s Riverwood Chapel , and other pastors from the area are expected to offer prayers.

Local police will be working for security and to direct vehicles.

“As we mourn the tragic loss of one of our community members, we are reminded of the deep connections that bind us together,” Mayor John Pribonic is quoted in the release. “In this time of sorrow, let us come together to support one another, honor the memory of the one we have lost and strengthen the bonds of our community. May we find comfort in unity and hope in the days ahead.”

On Wednesday, Keleman was in the drive-thru of the Taco Bell along Graham Road in Stow when a 53-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man who police said appeared to be “in crisis” fatally shot her in the neck, then turned the gun on himself.

Keleman’s social media posts suggest she had just finished her Master of Business Administration degree at Cleveland State University, FOX 8 News previously reported. She also worked at Shelter Care Inc. in Tallmadge, a drop-in center for runaway, homeless and at-risk youths.

“In light of the recent events, our family is enduring an immensely painful loss of Megan Elizabeth Keleman,” reads a statement issued Thursday by the woman’s family. “We kindly ask for the media and the public’s understanding for our privacy during this difficult time. We appreciate the community’s support and hope that our request for privacy will be honored so we can continue to focus on supporting each other through this difficult period.”
