Taste of fall: How long the cooler temps will last

(WJW) – The first half of the workweek is going to feel and look a lot more like fall than summer.

Highs on Monday will only be near 70°. Any lingering light rain showers will taper off early Monday afternoon. The clouds will even start to break up in the afternoon.

Monday afternoon will be a breezy day with north winds at 15 to 20 mph.

The gusty north winds will make Lake Erie choppy. A Small Craft Advisory will remain in effect through Tuesday afternoon. A Beach Hazards Statement is also in place due to the high risk of rip currents. Swimmers are advised to stay out of the water.

The winds will bring in some drier air, so there will be a big drop in the humidity Monday afternoon.

We will finally be able to breathe a sigh of relief from the humidity this week because the more comfortable air will stick around for several days.

Monday night will be partly cloudy and refreshingly cool. Overnight lows will be in the 50s. It is going to be a great night to turn off the A/C and crack open the windows.

A rare super blue moon will peak Monday night. August’s full moon is a seasonal blue moon because there are 4 full moons this summer. The third full moon in season with four full moons is called a blue moon, instead of the second full moon in a single month. Since it is a super moon, the moon will appear bigger and brighter than normal.

This taste of fall will come to an end by the end of the week. Highs will be back up into the 80s by the weekend. Overall, this week looks dry with little to no rain in the forecast.

Temperatures will climb into the upper 80s to near 90° by next weekend. This period of warmth looks to only last around 3 days before temperatures “cool”.
