Cleveland Zoo extending Asian Lantern Festival

CLEVELAND (WJW) – If you thought you’d miss this year’s Asian Lantern Festival at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo — you’re in luck!

The zoo has announced the popular nighttime event has been extended. This gives people 14 more evenings to check out the large-scale lantern displays, live acrobatic performances, and taste culturally inspired cuisine.

“Since its inception, more than one million guests have experienced the wonder of Asian Lantern Festival, including more than 105,000 guests this year,” said Cleveland Metroparks Chief Marketing Officer Kelly Manderfield in a press release. “With the inclusion of Dino Cove in this year’s event, there is more to experience after hours than ever before.”

The event now runs through Saturday, September 14.

In addition, the zoo announced a one-night-only Wild Ride through the light festival!

The Wild Ride is a family-friendly experience for all ages that allows guests to ride through the zoo on their bikes. The one-night event is Sunday, Sept. 15 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Tickets are on sale now for the additional dates.

The walk-through experience is Thursdays through Sundays from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The drive-thru experience is available on select nights.
