CLEVELAND (WJW) — The FOX 8 I-Team has found a Cleveland police dispatcher is under investigation for cursing at a 911 caller — and we have the recording.

A woman called police to report a man pulling a gun in a road rage incident. But a 911 recording shows a dispatcher losing his temper.

Boy, 6, attacked by pit bull while handcuffed to bed

You hear him ask, “What is going on?”

The caller answers, “Gray Ford Escape. Did you get the license plate number?”

The dispatcher also asked, “I’m asking you. What happened?”

The caller responded with, “What do you mean, ‘what happened?'”

To that, the dispatcher said, “What happened? I already have the [expletive] license plate. What happened?”

We contacted the caller and asked, “What did you think when you heard the dispatcher use the foul language?”

She told the I-Team, “It was very rude. Very disrespectful. Very unprofessional.”

The caller told us she was driving on the Jennings Freeway back in June. She saw another driver get mad at her for changing lanes.

Then, downtown, the other driver flashed a gun.

The I-Team requested the 911 recording after we heard what happened on the call. The city just released the recording.

The caller lost patience trying to give the license plate number. The dispatcher blew up, too.

The caller asked, “Did you get the [expletive] license plate number? This man just pulled…”

The dispatcher interrupted with, “I’m asking you what happened.” That led to him using foul language referring to the license plate.

Just after that, we heard silence. The recording then cut off. The caller told us the dispatcher hung up on her.

Another recording shows the woman then called back to 911. That time, someone else answered and tried to send help.

The woman told the I-Team, “This type of stuff doesn’t happen every day.”

She added, “When you call 911, there’s something serious. There’s an emergency happening.”

And she said, “And he didn’t seem to care much at all.”

Now, an internal investigation is underway. Cleveland police said they are investigating the call with the dispatcher using foul language.

There was rage on the roadway and the 911 line.

As for the crime, the caller said police told her a detective would contact her to follow up, but that has not happened.
