FORECAST: Temps near 90° — here’s when

(WJW) – Temperatures will climb back up to near 80° Friday afternoon which is more seasonable for this time of year.

The weather looks great for the first week of high school football across Northeast Ohio. Temperatures will slowly drop through the 70s Friday evening.

Highs on Saturday and Sunday will be in the mid to upper 80s.

The humidity will start to creep back up on Sunday. We can’t rule out an isolated shower/storm late Sunday, although most areas will stay dry.

By Tuesday a tropical feel returns to our area. There will be a couple of backyards especially west that will top 90°. Heat indices climb into the mid-90s!

This dry stretch of weather with very little to no rain will continue through the upcoming weekend. The next chance of rain will not come until the middle of next week.

Our recent period of cool temperatures hasn’t happened like this in late August since 2015. Many have asked what the winters are like following a late August “cool.” Meteorologist Scott Saobl says, there is NO connection to the seasons ahead after relatively “cool” periods like this in August.
