CLEVELAND (WJW) — The FOX 8 I-Team just uncovered new video from a series of cases with juveniles terrorizing your streets.

“Two juvenile suspects are on video beating a kid and kicking him in the head seven times,” said Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Mike O’Malley. “They took the shoes right off of his feet.”

The attack happened in Maple Heights this week. The victim was assaulted and robbed on the first day of school.

“He just got out of school. It was broad daylight,” O’Malley said. “I didn’t know there was a tennis shoe that could cost over $1,000, but there are. The reality is that some individuals who have these shoes have been targeted for these violent beatings and have the shoes stolen right off their feet.”

In May, a similar attack happened in Euclid . This attack happened in a crowded park right behind the Euclid police station. The suspects attacked the victim. The victim ended up taking off his shoes and threw them at the suspects.

“The violent juvenile attacks are alarming and continue to happen,” O’Malley said. “A few weeks ago a man is walking downtown Cleveland and several juveniles come upon him and chased him down. They then deliver a blind shot to his face, causing him to have multiple surgeries.”

The suspects in all three cases have been arrested and are facing charges. O’Malley said his office will be pushing for lengthy sentences for violent teen offenders.

“It’s clear that individuals who are committing violent acts — these juveniles — need to be held accountable. Our community demands safety. This has to stop,” O’Malley said.
