FORECAST: Hot stretch starts today

(WJW) – The heat and humidity returns this weekend.

Highs on Saturday will be in the mid-80s. However, dew points will be in the 50s, therefore Saturday will be more of a dry heat. You will notice the air starts to feel sticky on Sunday. Sunday will be very warm and humid, with highs in the mid to upper 80s.

Overall, the weekend looks mostly dry. However, a stray rain shower or two cannot be ruled out mid-day on Sunday.

An upper-level ridge continues to have a firm grip on Northeast Ohio through the first half of next week. This means the hot and dry conditions. Right now, Tuesday looks like it will be the hottest day next week. Heat indices could be in the mid-90s Tuesday afternoon.

The upper-level ridge looks to breakdown by the end of next week, which will allow a cold front to move through the area. This front could bring in our next best chance of rain and a big cool down.
