FORECAST: More heat and rain chances ahead

(WJW) – The heat backs off Thursday, but only briefly, with temperatures in the mid-80s.

Storm coverage shifts south. Expect spotty storms Thursday afternoon along the stalled front, mainly south of Akron, but most will see a partly to mostly sunny sky and stay dry.

Friday, the heat returns. Another heat advisory may be issued. Stay tuned.

Scattered storms are expected late Friday along a cold front into early Saturday.

If you’re headed to the high school football games on Friday evening, scattered storms will be developing along athe front. Dry expected periods in between storms. Some of these storms will be strong and could impact games.

The Cleveland National Air Show kicks off on Friday where we’ll see hot and humid conditions with a heat index in the mid to upper 90s. Skies will be partly sunny with a few afternoon thunderstorms passing by after 4 p.m.

The weekend and your Labor Day look perfect for the air show with lower temperatures, lower humidity values, and sunshine breaking out by Saturday afternoon west to east. A few morning showers on Saturday.

This stretch of hot and humid weather will come to an end by Labor Day.
