WATCH: Blue Angels take to sky ahead of Cleveland National Air Show

CLEVELAND (WJW) — Their skills, their style and their status are all legendary.

Now, the Blue Angels are back in town with the rest of Cleveland National Air Show for another legendary weekend to remember.

Natalia Luchetti has spent the last 23 years of her life serving in the United States Navy.

But this year, she’s spent the majority of her time making sure Blue Angels No. 2 puts on an elite performance at air shows across the country.

“Hopefully, when people come out to watch. We aren’t trying to make them join the Navy. We just hope they are inspired to be excellent in everything they do,” said Luchetti.

While there will be plenty of fun in store for over the weekend, Thursday’s all about planning, mapping out the city and making sure everything runs smoothly.

Grant Causey, a native Buckeye, is back home for the first time as a member of Blue Angels.

“I have a whole entire state that I am representing, so I definitely can’t wait to showcase what I have to offer,” said Causey.

Established in 1946 to show the American public the skills of those who protect this country, the Blue Angels continue the same mission in 2024.

Whether you’re a proud Ohioan like Causey or proud Puerto Rican like Luchetti, both are proud Americans representing some of the best this country has to offer.

“Getting to represent my brothers- and sisters-in-arms, it’s just a humbling experience,” said Luchetti.
