    2 men who drowned at Ohio state park over Labor Day Weekend identified

    LORE CITY, OHIO ( WTRF ) — On Tuesday, officials released the names of the men who died at Ohio’s Salt Fork State Park over Labor Day Weekend.

    Officials say Robert Hurst, 69, of Chillicothe, Ohio, and Thomas Fowler, 53, of Zanesville, Ohio, died by drowning Sunday.

    ‘Never imagined:’ Child who drowned at local swim beach identified

    Officials say they were called to the main beach at 3 p.m. Sunday when they received word a kayaker had gone into the water. Once on scene, it was discovered that two men left their boats and were in the water.

    One of the kayakers went into the water and another kayaker went into the water to save the other kayaker, according to officials.

    Officials say later in the evening sonar units were used to find both bodies.
