FORECAST: Weekend to feel much different

(WJW) – We continue the brief warming trend with sunshine on Thursday before rain and a drop in temperatures as we head into the weekend.

On Thursday, highs are expected to reach the mid-80s in many locations.

Then first up, there will be a quick spike in the humidity ahead of the front starting late Thursday and continuing into Friday.

A cold front approaches Friday. A few brief showers in the morning. Showers and a few storms become more widespread in the afternoon and in the eastern areas early evening.

Bring along your rain jacket for the high school football games.

Rain will continue overnight and into early Saturday as a cold front moves through Northeast Ohio. You’ll need to bring your umbrella with you to Oktoberfest.

We’ll get another taste of fall behind the front.

Temperatures will only be in the 60s for the Cleveland Browns home opener on Sunday!

Back to sunny and 70s through the beginning of the workweek.

The longer-range outlook keeps temperatures near/slightly below average through the middle of the month.
