CLEVELAND (WJW) — Veteran radio and television broadcaster Andrew Siciliano will take over play-by-play duties for the Cleveland Browns Radio Network, replacing the longtime “Voice of the Cleveland Browns” Jim Donovan , who announced at the end of August he would be stepping down amid a cancer battle.

In a press release Thursday, the Browns announced that Siciliano will be joining Senior Media Broadcaster and color commentator Nathan Zegura, and three-time Super Bowl champion Je’Rod Cherry reporting from the sidelines.

“I’m honored for the opportunity, but wish the circumstances were different,” Siciliano said. “Like every Browns fan, I was stunned last week when I learned of Jim’s retirement. I know I have big shoes to fill. Jim’s an icon, an amazing man and an indelible part of this community. I’m so grateful to Jim for his gracious support last season when I did a few games and will never forget sitting in the stands and listening to his call when the Browns clinched the playoffs in Week 17.”

Siciliano’s resume includes serving as host of NFL Sunday Ticket Red Zone, and as a host for NFL Total Access on the NFL Network. He’s also covered the Olympics, Big Ten Football, and most recently did play-by-play for the Los Angeles Rams in the 2024 preseason.

Donovan, who served as the Browns play-by-play announcer for 25 seasons, announced Aug. 29 that he is stepping away from the Browns Radio Network to continue his focus on his battle with cancer.

How long until clocks ‘fall back?’

“We were so honored to have Jim Donovan as the Voice of the Cleveland Browns for 25 seasons, and we will be missing him in the radio booth this year,” Executive Vice President and Partner JW Johnson said. “Last season we were able to bring Andrew Siciliano on for a number of games, and his passion for the Browns and this fanbase shines through his commentary. We’re looking forward to having his voice lead the Dawg Pound on the radio call during the 2024 season.”

Siciliano said he is grateful to the Browns for giving him this opportunity, calling in humbling, and calling Jim Donovan “an icon.”

The play-by-play triplecast can be heard on 92.3 The Fan, 98.5 WNCX, 850 ESPN Cleveland, The Cleveland Browns Radio Network, ClevelandBrowns.com and the Browns mobile app, according to the release.

The Browns start their season at home this Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.
