Police catch suspect trying to steal cars from local dealership

AKRON, Ohio (WJW) – The Akron Police Department has arrested a teenager in connection to a break-in at a local dealership.

According to police, officers responded to Vandevere Kia in the 300 block of W. Market Street just before 2 a.m. on Monday.

Police say officers found several cars running with lights on, and a suspect who was in the parking lot with a key fob.

According to police, the suspect admitted to taking keys from the business to access the cars.

Police say the front door to the business was broken, along with multiple car windows.

Christian Caldwell, 19, faces charges of breaking and entering and criminal mischief.
