Woman hit by car at Blossom; search for driver

CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio (WJW) – It’s around 11 p.m. Friday night, and the Avril Levigne concert at Blossom Music Center has just ended.

A woman leaving the grounds gets struck by a car and a massive emergency response unfolds, quickly.

Summit County Sheriff Kandy Fatheree says the 25 year old woman hit was rushed the hospital with serious injuries.

The driver ditched the scene, escaped without any confrontation with law enforcement and remains missing.

Over the years, patrons have voiced concerns about the lack of lighting leaving Blossom’s grounds late at night.

The sheriff says it’s a conversation they’re continuing to have with the venue.

“We continue to work with them to keep the venue safe. Nobody wants anybody to get hurt,” added Sheriff Fatheree.

Whether safety upgrades come to the venue or not, Sheriff Fatheree wants patrons to know that they need to do their part too.

‘Just be careful. Walk in lit areas. Walk in groups. And if you are driving, take your time because people are darting around,” she explained.

As for this investigation, tips remain a must to help find whoever did this.
