‘We have $100,000!’ Best friends win big with scratch-off ticket bought in NE Ohio

LODI , Ohio (WJW) — The friends who scratch together, stay together.

Earlier this summer, self-described best friends Brandy Teets and Christine Davis were on vacation with their families, when they decided to stop at a Circle K in Medina County for a bit of fun.

Together they bought $100 worth of scratch-off tickets at the Lodi convenience store on Medina Street and went back to their camper to see the results.

“Christy probably didn’t get through five of them and she was screaming, ‘We have $100,000,’” Teets told the Ohio Lottery.

Their husbands stood by in disbelief, Teets said, as the two besties jumped up and down and screamed.

After taxes, the two are splitting the winnings of approximately $72,000. They won the top prize off of the $5 Buckeye Cash scratch-off ticket. There are reportedly four other top prizes left on the game, according to the Ohio Lottery.
