WATCH: Vikings remain undefeated in FOX 8’s Game of the Week

(WJW) – It was a playoff rematch as the Vikings and the Bombers went head-to-head in FOX 8’s Friday Night Touchdown Game of the Week.

Villa Angela-St. Joseph and Kenston played twice in 2023, including a second round matchup in the OHSAA Division III Playoffs last November. Now, they met for the third time in 12 months with big playoff points on the line.

Here’s how it went:

The Bombers started strong! Senior quarterback Lucas Kaltenbach threw to Kahlil Hinton, a freshman. It set up Cohen Clark for a touchdown from 6-yards out.

More good fortune for Kenston as they recovered a fumble on the kickoff and took back-to-back drives and made them both count!

The Vikings eventually found calmer seas as Johnny Vurack threw to Savion Lewis for a 37-yard strike. VASJ outlasted Kenston 53-35 and remain undefeated!

This week’s Chick-Fil-A rivalry game was the “golden shoe” game. It was the annual border battle between longtime rivals Brecksville and North Royalton. In the end, North Royalton came out on top with a 55-21 victory.
