Video: Crews battle blaze at Cleveland home; firefighter hospitalized with burns

CLEVELAND (WJW) – A Cleveland firefighter was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after a fire broke out in the city Monday evening.

Fire crews were called to the scene in the 3200 block of W. 32nd Street around 5 p.m.

As seen in the video above, SkyFox was flying overhead as firefighters battled the blaze, which investigators say appeared to start at the back of the structure before spreading through the home.

Fire officials say four adults were able to get out of the home safely. The Red Cross is currently helping them.

A 32-year-old firefighter was taken by ambulance to MetroHealth Medical Center for face and neck burns. Investigators say he’s in stable condition.

There were no other injuries.

Fire officials estimate about $100,000 in losses, including damage to two cars on the premise.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.
