CINCINNATI , Ohio (WJW) — An Ohio woman is speaking out about the dangers of vape addiction following a harrowing hospitalization.

Jordan Brielle, a 32-year-old from Cincinnati, recently told the Daily Mail she used to spend $500 a week on vaping. She told the outlet she used to vape so much she would take her smoking device into the shower with her and sleep with it.

Last November, her health started to decline.

“It felt like there were 80 lbs. of pressure just laying on my chest,” she told the Daily Mail, explaining she was going to the hospital multiple times a week to help with her breathing problems. The issues didn’t stop her from vaping, however.

Then in May, everything came to a head when Brielle’s boyfriend found her “unresponsive” with black mucus coming out of the orifices on her face.

Quickly rushed to the hospital, doctors reportedly took more than half a gallon of liquid from her lungs.

“My body was trying to force out the vape juice inside my lungs which was like concrete,” she explained. “It was pure black and bloody. At the hospital, they were sucking it out of me.”

She was put into a medically-induced coma for 11 days. Waking up afterward, she said she has no memory of what took place but the doctors saying her lungs could collapse at any point has finally made her stop vaping.

“I would say to anyone else quit any way you can,” she told the Daily Mail, saying she also has brain damage following the incident. “Do it for your health, your family, your life, your lungs — whatever motivates you, use that reason and stop. I wouldn’t wish what I’d been through on anyone else. I feel grateful to be alive.”
