LISBON , Ohio (WKBN) – A Columbiana County man who admitted to killing his wife and then dismembering her body could now spend the rest of his life in prison.

Christopher Morrison returned to court for sentencing Tuesday after he admitted last month to shooting his wife Tiffany in December in the bathroom shower of their home in Liverpool Township to keep her from divorcing him. The crime happened just seven days before Christmas.

Columbiana County Prosecutors called the murder “unthinkable” saying Morrison used a saw to dismember Tiffany’s body and put her remains into garbage bags, leaving them in a shed.

“Tiffany’s body was moved to an outside shed on the property. The hole in the shower was hidden and patched up,” said Assistant Columbiana County Prosecutor Ryan Weikart. “A heinous and unimaginable act that shows his genuine lack of remorse.”

The victim’s mother, Ruth Mahley, spoke in court describing the impact the loss has had on the lives of those that loved Tiffany.

“The anger, hurt and disbelief were unimaginable. Our lives were shattered,” said Mahley. “I find myself dialing Tiffany’s number and then hanging up when I realize with a heavy heart that I will never hear that sweet voice again.”

When it was his turn to speak, Morrison spoke softly and claimed he still loved his wife.

“Our children now have to go forward without either of us,” he said. “And there is nothing I regret more. I’ll be sorry for this until my last breath.”

Columbiana County Common Pleas Court Judge Megan Bickerton sentenced Morrison to life in prison with no chance for parole for at least 25 years. She called his actions those of a monster and described Morrison’s demeanor when police interviewed him days after Tiffany had been killed.

“It wasn’t the reaction of a man who loved and cared about his wife,” said Bickerton. “It was the reaction of a monster who was trying to get away with murder.

Good call. My sympathies go out to this family who have lost their daughter, because of the actions of this individual. It should of never happened. Now if we can start to treat these drug dealers, who prey on the weak, the ones who stand for justice, in the same manner, I will jump for joy as well.
